Exposed 0.7(Spider Kitten) Release

Just released a new version of Exposed that includes compatibility fixes for 5.0+ as well as merged in some long due fixes provided by @nitoTV so don’t forget to show him some love. Also from the source code side of things, I added a project build script that copies the bundle bin to a dylib and plist making it easier to test builds. Happy Easter!

Hi, Sorry to be a pain, but I can't find an easy way to install this. While I'm comfortable with a command line, I'm not a deep tecchie, and I have used NitoTV in the past to install Exposed. But now I've upgraded my ATV2 to 5.1 this version doesn't appear in NitoTV. If anyone can point me to a resource with some instructions I would certainly be very grateful! Thanks!

Hey Nik, to manually install, simply untar and copy Exposed.plist and Exposed.dylib into /Library/MobileSubstrate/DynamicLibraries/ on your ATV2G. Make sure you have MobileSubstrate installed. To automatically install via repository, do "apt-get update" then "apt-get install com.whatanutbar.exposed". Hope that helps.

I've never been able to get exposed to work unfortunately :( Everytime I attempt to connect to it , it looks like it will work, but then errors with "Connection Closed". Can anyone suggest what may the cause? Maybe I need another VNC Viewer?

Exposed doesn't work with Apple's VNC viewer. Try Chicken of VNC.

Thanks for a great VNC solution for Apple TV. I am trying to get it to work remotely via Slink, see this discussion: http://support.slinkware.com/entries/21795763 Do you think Bonjour "advertising" would help, and is it possible to implement?

Its possible that it might help. Not sure. It would be fairly simple to add. I'll take a look at implementing it when I get some free time in about 2 weeks.

Hi, Having problems with Exposed, and VNC settings. Both are installed and updated, but no settings are showing anywhere. What might be the problem? I´m running latest iOS, Firecore and installation done thru NitoTV. Thanks! /John
